Life in diaspora

Hi everyone my name is Bera. Allow me to take you on a journey to a very complex country on earth so far, Sudan, where I have been born and raised, to clear the cloudy picture in regarding the complexion one has to describe the country, Sudan location and ethnicity is 100% African!!! Beside it is the largest country in the continent Africa, which covers an area of 967.500 square miles approximately 8.3% of the entire area of Africa.

Here comes the awkward part of the story which has torn my lovely country into pieces. Do you know guys, Sudan was an Anglo-Egyptian colony between 1885-1956 and the first colonized African country to raise it's flag high after gaining independence from Anglo-Egyptian domination, since then my lovely country is in war within itself and that is because of the small minority who high jacked the country since we never felt independent until this moment (to be continued).

No body is anybody's minority and nobody is anybody's majority.

Dear Bera

Each time I hear of Sudan my heart is moved within me. My good friends have just returned from working there with an aid agency and so we have been receiving news. It is truly heartbreaking and so complicated as you so rightly say. I hope you find some peace and welcome here in Sheffield.
